KARACHI: Bank Alfalah has reported significant progress in expanding women’s financial inclusion across Pakistan, highlighting increased participation of women in banking services, financing programmes and leadership roles within the institution.
The bank released new data outlining its efforts to improve access to financial services for women, including support for female entrepreneurs, expansion of digital banking tools and greater representation of women in the workforce.
Officials said the initiative forms part of a broader strategy to promote economic participation by women and remove barriers that have historically limited their access to formal financial systems.
Bank Alfalah reported steady growth in women customers using its banking platforms and financing products. The bank has expanded lending programmes and financial products designed specifically for women entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Through initiatives such as “Mera Kaam Meri Pehchaan,” the bank provides financing facilities to women running small and medium enterprises, helping them meet credit needs and expand their businesses.
The bank also offers digital banking tools that allow women to manage businesses online, accept digital payments and access financing without visiting physical branches.
Bank Alfalah has introduced several digital solutions aimed at increasing financial access for women. Its Alfa digital banking platform enables small business owners to create merchant accounts, receive QR-based payments and track transactions through mobile devices.
These tools have helped many women entrepreneurs start home-based businesses and expand online sales through digital payments.
The bank has also partnered with various organisations to deliver financial literacy training and awareness sessions for women, particularly in underserved communities and rural areas.
Bank Alfalah has also reported progress in improving gender representation within its workforce. Women now account for more than 20 percent of the bank’s employees, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen diversity and inclusion in the financial sector.
The bank has introduced workplace policies supporting women professionals, including maternity support and career development programmes aimed at increasing leadership opportunities.
Financial inclusion remains a key policy focus in Pakistan, where many women still face limited access to formal banking services due to social and economic barriers.
Bank Alfalah officials said expanding women-focused banking products, digital accounts and entrepreneurship financing will remain central to their strategy to support economic growth and empower women across Pakistan’s financial landscape.
