What is a Pakistan HS Code / PCT Code?

A Pakistan HS Code — officially called a Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) Code — is an 8-digit number used by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to classify every importable and exportable product. The first two digits represent the HS Chapter, the next two the sub-chapter, and the last four digits after the decimal identify the specific product.

Example: PCT Code 8471.3000 = Chapter 84 (Machinery) → Subheading 71 (Computers) → Item 3000 (Portable laptops & notebooks).

PCT codes are Pakistan’s national extension of the international Harmonized System (HS) developed by the World Customs Organization (WCO), used in over 200 countries worldwide.
